Can I use an impact driver to remove lug nuts?

It may remove some lightly tightened lug nuts with the correct rated adapter, but it is not the right primary tool. Use an impact wrench and impact-rated socket, then tighten to the vehicle manufacturer's specification with a torque wrench.
