You are talking to software
The Tool Desk assistant is an automated system, not a person. It never pretends otherwise. If you want a human, ask for one and we will pick it up by email.
What it can see
The assistant reads only public information: the live product catalog, published Help Center answers, published Field Notes articles, and our published policies. It cannot see other customers, orders, payment details, cost prices, supplier names, or any internal note.
What it can do
Answer questions about tools, batteries, compatibility, stock, and store policy, and place a temporary hold on an item for you. It cannot take payment, change an order, or issue a refund.
What it stores
Your messages, its replies, the sources it used, and a session identifier. If you are signed in, the conversation is linked to your account. Transcripts are reviewed to fix wrong answers and are deleted on the retention schedule set in our admin dashboard. Do not paste card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive personal information into the chat.
Where the processing happens
Message text is sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. It is not used to train public models by us.
It can be wrong
The assistant can misread a spec or miss a detail. Anything that affects safety, warranty, or a large purchase should be confirmed against the manufacturer's documentation or with us directly. Its answers are general information, not professional advice.
Accuracy rules we hold it to
It cites what it knows, says plainly when it does not know, never invents a spec or a price, never guarantees warranty coverage, and hands off to a human for complaints, safety issues, and anything involving your order.
Reporting a bad answer
Use the feedback control in the chat, or email jctoolsupply@gmail.com with what it said. We review every report.
