Our commitment
We want every contractor, weekend builder, and shop owner to be able to use this site, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or voice control. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
What we have done
- Semantic headings and landmarks on every page so screen readers can navigate structure.
- Keyboard access to navigation, filters, cart, checkout, and the assistant.
- Visible focus states and a color palette checked for contrast on body text and controls.
- Alternative text on product and article imagery.
- A layout built mobile-first that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels.
- Form fields with real labels and error messages that are announced, not just colored red.
Known gaps
Some older product photographs have thin alternative text, and a small number of Field Notes tables are wide on narrow screens. Both are being worked through.
Third-party components
Payment is handled inside Stripe's hosted checkout. We do not control its accessibility, but Stripe publishes its own conformance information.
